Room 12's Tennis Lessons

Today Rm 12 had a Tennis lesson. It was really fun but when we all started it got harder. Rm 12 did really well we all started by warming up. So we all had to jog to a line on the court and back. All of Rm 12 also did a side run just like the first one. After that we all did little activities such as bouncing the ball on the ground and above the ground. Next we did more activities but we competed against each other. Finally we did an activity called the Ham Burger it was a bit hard but all we had to do is put the tennis balls on top of the rackets until all the group had finished the task.

Leeston Legends Running Race

Well done to all the children and teachers who ran in the Selwyn Trust Fun Run.  Mr Marsden, Mrs J and Ms Davison were in the team event for the 10km run.  Mrs McClure and Mrs Stanford walked the 10km.....lots of Leeston children ran in the 5km and Kids Dash.....a BIG paki paki to Austin Ford for running 10km.....a fantastic effort.

(Ms Davison only managed to pass him at the 8km mark...he was too quick up until then...she was too scared to turn around after that in case he overtook her again!!! )

Great Gardening Galore

This morning we helped Jonesy and Cd with weeding the garden,  We had to pull out stinging nettle, prickles and thistles.  We also had to pull some potatoes because they were in the wrong area of the garden.
The aim of our garden is to sell the produce so that we can have enough money for next year to buy more seeds and equipment. We need to keep growing the crops to sustain our garden.
We love cooperating because it's helping the environment and it's epic fun.

More marae photos by Annalise Robinson

Waikekewai Awa - Our Trip to the Marae

Today we went out to Taumutu Marae to visit Waikekewai Awa - our new syndicate name.  We also picked up rubbish off the beach....sadly we found 8 bags of rubbish.

On the spot reporters - Sage O'Connell and Lucy McMillan will share their thoughts on the excursion.

Sage: I thought it was really cold and wet.  I found a pretty shell and gave it to Ms Davison.  I saw the stream and it looks really cool.

Lucy: It's a shame we didn't go yesterday!!  I still enjoyed going to the marae again and seeing the Waikekewai Stream.  Unfortunately, I slipped off the log and got my left foot WET!
